While You Were Sleeping.
We dug and we dug, we dug so deep we were covered in mud.
On some days the mud would stick.
And our energy would feel so thick.
Like we’d been over-powered by those at the top.
Crushing down, it won’t ever stop.
While you were sleeping.
We questioned everything.
No longer content with the lies we were told.
In a world that seemed to have lost it’s soul.
Suppression, repression, the tools of their trade.
Keeping us all as unbounded slaves.
While you were sleeping.
I done a lot of thinking.
As I tried to stop it, the ship kept on sinking.
We’re heading for disaster.
I can’t do anymore.
Is it too late to swim for the shore?
While you were sleeping,
There was many awake.
As you dreamed, the foundations we shook.
As you snored, the steps we took.
Now it’s time for me to rest my eyes.
As you come to term with all the lies.
Looking behind curtains,
And dancing with death.
Knowing yourself and becoming one with your breath.
No longer led by fools with masks.
Breaking free, your only task.
While you were sleeping, many lay awake.
And today some rest they must take.
Wonderland awaits when the storm finally passes
When the rabbit hole has delivered all of it’s classes.
When we’ve learned how to think, not be sheep.
When we’ve ascended the muck, down in the deep.
We’re on our way, rub the sleep from your eyes.
And never be blinded by another lie.
While you were sleeping….
